Ditto. However - I will not be installing v8 until I see - exactly - where we are going.
And, does anyone like the new name?

Personally, I don't have a strong view on the name. It doesn't offend me and it doesn't excite me, but then the "Studio One" name didn't excite me either and at least the new name avoids the potential confusion of a product have a "one" in the name but being on version 7 (or 8, or...)
I'm far more interested to see where they take it and whether it survives. You can be certain that there will be some internal targets for the product at Fender, be it profit, or "footfall", or new users or whatever. Studio Pro probably has a couple of years before someone decides whether it is meeting those targets. That's the danger point for the product.
IMO, the $$ and resource expenditure indicates a firm commitment to the future of the product
I should've been more specific. The $$/resource expenditure I refer to is rebranding cost. I have a bit of experience in this area, and by the time a rebranding/web site merger/etc is completed, there will have been a ton of cash spent.Respectfully - you would need provide some kind of info to back that up - in order to calm the waters.
Speculating that there is some huge cash reserve at work - does not equal a firm commitment for many of us.
While I heard this and that about staff increases and the like - it is still shrouded in mystery (understandable).
Knowing real facts about $$$ and expenditures (both executed and planned) - is a different conversation.

Enjoy! Guitar, drums, and synthesis being my main as well. I tried to like the lil guitar interface they released last year, but instead I bought the Katana Go 2. It sounded far better to my ears, but I know these things are subjective. As a guitar player - I do see the value in the new sims and a few other things in v8 (Arrangement View and that snazzy new plugin overview panel) and was thrilled to see the upgrade price drop by a third - so I did upgrade.
I forgot about you're waiting on that. Wow. Now, is that an NI issue (says Presonus), or a Presonus issue based on their architecture? I tend to think the latter because every other DAW, the Mk3 is now ok with. Not only do I need to finally get over to Windows 11 - the real big one for me right now is my transition to a new Native Instruments S61MKIII - which is a non-starter until Fendersonus can show me they are going to support the new MKIII v2 firmware.
Sounds good. I'll watch from a distance. I'll use Studio One 7, because it works soundly, and I can get out projects as is. I see no need to see anything differently. I have macros that view all active channels and it works without fail and on the fly. Things not available now.If it's a fail - I will give you an overview on next steps at that time.
