Solved Why does S1 not load the GM sounds?

@Davey To be clear- Dragging a midi file will retain sample rate. Opening a midi file is where it will change.

I beg to differ. If I drag a .MID file onto the home screen without any song open it opens at 44.1k for me, despite everything being set to a default of 48k. But you are correct that I've never noticed before! And I'd still call it a bug, but definitely not a major one.

What John meant is: Dragging a MIDI file into the arrangement will retain...

Dragging a MIDI file onto the Start Page = Opening a MIDI file.

Something I found interesting John with the 01V. I can connect my DAW to the 01V via the ADAT input and receive 4 stereo stems from Studio One. If I mix completely internally in Studio One eg only listen to one stereo stem coming from the DAW it sounds fine. But if I send 4 stereo stems over to the 01V (eg from 4 buses) and do the final mix there it always sounds wider to me for some reason.

I thought I was imagining this until I read an article from James Taylor's engineer who recorded and mixed an album using a Yamaha digital mixer and he sad exactly the same thing.

@Jemusic
AH, I see you have the ADAT card then, yes that changes everything. I opted for the card that added 8 TRS line inputs. That was my default connection from my 8 track Yamaha. MD 8. I also had the MD 4 and so I had 12 tracks.

And yes @Lukas @Davey I didn't know you could drag a file to the Start page . I was refering to dragging a midi file to a new project / arrangement. Thanks.
