Universal Control Routing

hey all,

not sure if I'm the correct section but I'd love to know if this is possible

Hydrasynth is connected to 3/4
Chroma Console is connected to 5/6

I'd love to listen to the CC processing the Hydra without opening Studio One.

Is this possible?

Is this a hardware ASM Hydrasynth?
Also do you want to see what CC info is being transmitted from the enconders on the hardware?

Regards

indeed it's an hardware synth and I just need to hear the processing that's all. Just a basic audio signal flow, no CC needed.
Thanks!

This is out of my domain as I do not use a Quantum HD8, but I would guess you need some kind of output device (speaker/ear phones)
connected to outputs 5/6 on your Quantum?

maybe someone familiar with a Quantum can join in.

Your ref to CC made me think you were talking about Midi?

Best regards

Thanks Sin, oh by CC I meant Chroma Console :) it's an outboard FX pedal

Ah! I see :)
You want to listen to the return signal from the Chroma Consol FX., and you are looking at the Q8 HD standalone mixer software?
I would imagine it's possible, but I am not familiar with the QHD8, I'm sure someone on here will be able to help.

Best regards.

pretty much that :)
I just want to noodle around with the Hydra and the Chroma Console without opening S1

I assume that the inputs 1+2 of the Chroma Console are connected to outputs 5+6 of the HD8 and outputs 1+2 of the CC are connected to inputs 5+6 of the HD8. In addition, you should set the effects mix of the CC to 100% "wet". In my opinion, this should work as long as you have Universal Control open (you don't need Studio One). With output 1+2 (main output) assigned to one of the headphone outputs of the HD8, you can listen to the mix using headphones (in your screenshot, headphone output #1 appears to be assigned to Main L/R, so this should already work). If you want to use loudspeakers instead, connect the speakers or the power amplifier (depending on your speakers being powered or not) to output 1+2 of the HD8.

It is not possible, however, to use the HD8 as a standalone mixer without any software. To use it as a mixer, the HD8 must be connected to a computer running either Universal Control or a DAW.

Thanks Michael and yesterday I just found the solution: I was sending the wrong outputs to the Chroma XD

Thanks for chiming in!
