Solved Unable to Get MIDI Between Tone Master Pro and Studio Pro 8 to Work

I'm having an issue sending MIDI messages from my Tone Master Pro to plugin in Studio Pro 8. I can see them in MIDI Monitor and the are correct, but when using MIDI Learn in the plugins no MIDI messages are received. This is my Studio Pro 8 external device configuration.

This is what MIDI Monitor shows.

This is the plugin with MIDI Learn enabled, but nothing is received.

This is what Studio Pro 8 shows in the controller section top left.

If a click on Tone Master Pro DAW I get this .

Has anyone gotten the TMP MIDI to work with Studio Pro 8?

If you want to use MIDI messages directly in a plug-in, you have to add the MIDI device as a Keyboard, not as a Control Surface.

Yeah, that makes sense, if the OP is just after Vst control.

He was asking for Midi comms as per subject header. I just picked a route to show it was possible.

Yes, it had to be added as a keyboard....I should have known that, but I haven't done much MIDI in the last few years. It works perfectly now.
