Is there a way to temporarily disable the tempo track in S1?

I doubt it, because tempo is one of the foundations of a S1/SP song if not the foundation.
Instrument tracks relate to either the song's tempo ('Beats') or to time ('Seconds') which would be an 'ignore tempo' I guess. For audio tracks you can choose per track between 'Don't follow' (ignore tempo completely), Follow (events stick to their bar positions but don't stretch) or 'Timestretch' (events stick and stretch). So 'Don't follow' would be the option to choose here.
But I don't know of a global tempo track disable.
