Solved Studio One 7 OUTPUT latency issue WEIRD

Hello all, I am praying someone here can help me out. I am having a very unusual issue that I’ve never seen before: the OUTPUT latency is really high, which is fine for mixing, but killing me trying to play virtual instruments. Recently upgraded from my i7 Mac mini Ware I had absolutely no issues outside of occasionally running out of processing power. I’ve tried everything that I know how to try, and I’ve got a project due at the end of the week that I’ve got to get in, so if anyone has experienced anything like this or can help in any way, I would be most appreciative. Current system is:
MBP M1 Max
64gb ram
Sequoia 15.7

Studio One 7.2.2

Screenshots attached, showing my latency issues… It happens when I use the interface, it happens when I use the internal sound card on the computer, and it happens when I use a borrowed interface-so I’m pretty sure this is not a hardware issue. And yes, of course I have tried changing the device block size. Any info would be helpful

Can you set Block Size smaller than 256. Try 128 or lower if you are able to

I have no experience in this, but read the efficiency cores are tricky to set up right. Have you tried un-checking that box?

Yes. Tried with the box checked and unchecked with no difference in result.

The only thing that makes for normal, comfortable piano playing is at 16, LMAO!!!! And of course, with the buffer set that low, it won’t play back the rest of the tracks very well at all

As far as I can see, LLM (low latency monitoring / Green Z in the instrument rack in the mixer) is enabled?

Are there any effect plug-ins on any (bus) channels or on the Main channel that introduce latency to the song (such as Izotope Ozone or other mastering plug-ins)? You can see this here:

Could you please show full screenshots in the future? On macOS it’s really easy (Cmd+Shift+4 or 5), and they're much easier to read than blurry, angled camera pictures of the screen. And you can easily drag the images right into the text editor for a new forum post.

Understood, and forgive my poor camera skills, please. I will upload new images however I have found out something new in my troubleshooting:
It seems to be specifically and ONLY the midi input that is delayed, as I have the exact same issue in ProTools, and even with no DAW just using Kontakt standalone, there is still about a 15-Ish millisecond delay… since then I have:
- bypassed the USB hub and going direct with no positive effect
- Checked the audio midi settings on the Mac with no discernible difference, regardless of any changes in configuration
- Switched midi controllers and cables out just to rule out the hardware

At this point it truly SEEMS like this is a Mac/midi issue and NOT a DAW/hardware issue… I have NEVER been this confused before

I am currently updating to the most current iOS to see if that has any effect on MIDI input at all. I just hope that all of my software still works, lol.

Okay - that's weird, but I can't help in this case since I'm not a power macOS user. The only thing that I sometimes see issues with is aggregated device. If you use these, check if the devices are configured correctly or if there are any syncing issues. But I'm not sure if this can even impact USB MIDI input latency.

Something is odd for sure. When I lower my block size to 128 it clears up midi latency from 25 feet away. I am going from Midi
5 din cable(s) to Midi USB. I assume you are doing the same?
I pretty much never use Studio One's Monitoring system for midi (blue monitor button) because of Latency. I Monitor live feeds
through my board and record without the Monitor button on most of the time. In my case I can easily fix the latency but chose not to. Monitoring
from my mixer makes thing so much easier (in my case).

Absolutely the oddest thing: updated to the latest IOS and issue disappeared like magic
