Seaboard M gotchas?

Number6

Active member
I'm thinking of buying a Seaboard M:

Anybody use one in Studio One latest version? (Ideally Windows).
Any issues I should be aware of/gotchas?

Obviously MPE needs enabling...

I am aware of this (below), maybe it's fixed so this doesn't need to happen now?

Thanks

On a Mac, but no issues for me. For MPE, you do have to do the setting change you alluded to. It's not a bug, just a feature no one at PreSonus realized would affect accurate MPE recording.

When using MPE heavily with the Roli, S1 sometimes freezes, but that could be more how the plugins handle it within S1. But you may run into that on occasion. On a Mac, I force quit and restart and things are usually good again.

If you haven't tried one before make sure you buy it from somewhere that accepts returns, because the squishy "tactile surface" is an acquired taste that I never manage to acquire. Some folks love it but it reminded me of a ZX Spectrum (yes, I am that old...) So mine went back!

I've got mine. A week later than advertised, badly packaged (probably ping ponged around in the box) and looks like they've sent me a return.

It works fine, think I like it l, but this has given me memories of ZX81 16K RAM pack wobble and I may return. Radio silence from support of course (commicative until I got my product). May have to Chuckie egg it back at them.

Now that made me chuckle (but not Chuckie). I guess we're a similar age.
Anyway, ew, squishy keyboards!

But if you can get past that I'm sure it will be lots of fun, although I think MPE implementations do vary a bit from DAW to DAW and from instrument to instrument.
