Renaming Instrument Tracks Using the NE Apply Track Names to Instruments. Is there a limit?

I'm in the process of adding some new Choir stuff to my S1 V6 template. The track count has recently exceeded 300+ and is growing. All instrument tracks are disabled by default. I am selectively enabling tracks when I want to apply the 3 NE "Apply Track Names ...." options. When I run the "Apply Track Names to Instruments" option, nothing changes in the instruments listing. However, if I go back to a track 299 it works. Move to track 300 and it doesn't. So, I'm curious if there is a theoretical or physical limit to this feature?

edit: after further mucking about, the issue is not tied to the track # but seems solely based on how many instruments there are.

I believe I added a 256-instrument limit to this function back then. I'll take a look at it, but it might take some time.
