Honestly, this confusion has existed since I first started using Studio One. But over the past few years, I've often encountered friends who have just started using Studio One or Fender Studio Pro asking me this question: Why can't they find the familiar MIDI CC controllers in Fender Studio Pro? Or, why can't the commonly used CC numbers be listed in a simple way?
Whether it's Logic, Cubase, Reaper, or Ableton Live, their MIDI CC controllers are all neatly arranged in order. Only Studio Pro lists thousands of strange automation parameters—not just hundreds, but thousands! I know Studio One added a search function after version 7, but the CC names are different for different instruments, which still causes confusion. Even for the same CC controller, it lists 16 different channels. But if a specific channel is already selected on the track header, why list the other 15*128?
Of course, I'm not saying that the design of part automation is bad. For parameters with a UI, you can directly drag them in, which is really great. But when I need to find a specific CC number, this becomes very frustrating.
My questions are simple:
1. Why list thousands of parameters?
2. Is there any simpler and faster way to quickly find the CC controller I need?
