Question about install

Hiya,

If I buy Studio one 7 Pro, can I install it on another drive then C ?
I ask this because Ive got only 20 gb left on C and it will need at least 40 gb, and on my other drives, I got plenty Gb's free.

Ive got Windows 10

Greetings

Hey,

you can install Studio One on any drive you want. Once it's installed, it also lets you choose to install libraries, packages and what not wherever you want to.

No, you don't need more than 300 MB for the pure app installation.

Everything else is just (optional) content: Sound Sets, loops, samples, presets, impulse responses etc. But you don't need to install any of that - and you can choose to install any additional content on any drive/partition of your choice.

And to be honest: Nobody needs 40 GB of Sound Sets.

It's possible but I'd recommend installing Studio One on your system drive/partition ( C: ).

strange, cause I saw on what was needed that you need minimal 40 Gb, hows that?

I don't know - all I can say is that's it's not needed for the installation of the program. The program itself including stock synth and plug-in presets is about 300 MB. Perhaps it's written on the website so that users see that it comes with lots of (optional) sounds and other content.

Sorry, last one, so 20 gb is more then enough, right? With Artist my drive went full and I couldnt play anymore.
Yes. You can also uninstall Sound Sets or move them to other drives. Just add the new folder to the search paths for Sound Sets in the Options.

If it's in your budget, I'd recommend replacing your 20GB drive with one with more capacity.

Lukas is correct. Not only is it best to install the main app on your main internal drive but also all plugins are much better off being installed in their default locations. I have never had an issue with plugins not being found. People who install them elsewhere are very prone to them not being found. I suggest you clear off and move to an external drive a lot of the data that is taking up room on your main internal drive. Move any larger libraries etc and then point the plugins to the new locations.
