Solved Presence XT doesn't reliably play midi file.

I'm sure I'm doing something wrong, but this is odd.

I've used S1 since v2, but only just upgraded to v7 and I've mostly been using Pro Tools in recent years...so I may have forgotten a critical step.
If I load a new session/song and start with a new instrument track, add Presence XT with Studio Grand to it, then I get sounds from the on-screen keyboard. Then I drop a midi file onto the track, and get no sound on playback. I also get no sound from the on-screen keyboard.
If I do the same thing with a new track and a different VI (e.g. Pianoteq STAGE, or Keyscape C7) then everything works as expected - the same midi file triggers the VI and I can hear the sound.
I can see the keys on Presence getting triggered on the screen, and I can see the activity bar in orange on the left of the track triggering, but just no audio.
What am I doing wrong? It's a pretty simple setup - the one stereo track with Presence XT is routed to Main 1/2 and the RME Babyface Pro fs is the interface on the Main Outputs, going to Analog 1/2.
Any clues appreciated.

Take a look at the part automation (MIDI CCs) in the Note Editor. There may be MIDI CCs (such as CC7 / Main Volume or CC11 / Expression) that Presence responds to but that Pianoteq or Keyscape may not.
Thanks Lukas - that was it - Master Gain set to zero at the start of the midi part.
Help much appreciated.(y)
