MIDI CC record and playback issues

Hey there, I'm having a strange issue with recording midi CC and PC messages and playing them back. It's to control a Kemper on stage. Basically I want to be able to record a 'performance' of pressing the kemper floor controller and then play it back to change my sounds automatically.

All seems pretty straight forward, created a new MIDI instrument, correct midi channel etc... I record everything in (can see midi messages coming in), but when playing back it doesn't switch the kemper correctly. It only sends out the first change and stays on it. If I split the midi clip and move playback head right before each change it works as expected, but when playing from the start of the track only the first change works.

I'm on a mac, latest version of Studio One (7.2.1), using PlayAudio1U + MioXM for MIDI, but this exact same setup works perfectly fine in other DAWs (Logic, Ableton - records and plays changes back without any issues...)

What am I doing wrong, any ideas? Thanks!

EDIT: Do I need to convert my recorded data into an automation lane? Would that fix my issue?

Hi, @bluey_ballz

I'm not on a Mac, so I am unfamiliar with "PlayAudio1U + MioXM for MIDI", or the Kemper etc.

Big assumption here, hopefully someone else with actual knowledge of your gear may chime in.

Have a look in your Kemper manual, does it require MSB and LSB are received for program changes to happen?
Also, view the midi clip in the edit window. Have a look for CC lanes, maybe CC 32 or other.
There may be two lanes with CC events. When you split the midi clip it may be sending out both CC numbers again.

Can you look and check what data has been added to the control lanes ?

Folk might be able to help if you can give more info on what is being recorded.
