How to unlock tracks

Hi--When I record an audio track, occasionally for no obvious reason, a tiny chain symbol will appear at the bottom corner of all tracks, and I'll lose the ability to do fades, the little triangular symbol at the top corner of the track will disappear and all I can do editing-wise is fold the track in or out. Thanks in advance.

It's a consolidated part. See below video from Gregor Byerle for more explanation.

Thank you for replying. Unfortunately, Gregor's video only explains how to consolidate or group the sections, but not how to remove the grouping for editing.

Right click, some "transform" command I forgot the name of. (Not behind the desk atm).
You could also commit to the edits and ctrl b bounce the event.

A classic :-)

Here are two of my videos about Audio Parts - that's the actual name of this feature.

Bouncing is not really an effective way to undo it. It creates new (redundant) audio data. It's not needed. Just choose "Audio" > "Dissolve Audio Part." Or even easier - just leave it as an Audio Part and use the Editor to change fades etc.

I stand corrected!
