This is a bit of a twofold post/question so please let me know if I should repost separately.
1. Mute undo
I recently had a session where I accidentally unmuted all tracks with a key command and had to spend a lot of time chasing down now-unmuted hidden tracks. As I understand it, there's no way to undo mute/unmute actions, even with "Enable undo" checked in console settings. Is there a reason this feature does not exist? Or am I missing something? It would have saved me SO much time in this situation and I can't be the only one accidentally unmuting all.
2. Folders and Track List
While tracking down the unmuted channels, I also noticed that folders in the arrangement "Track list" collapse and expand with the tracks as expected, but in the mixer "Channel list" they are simply hidden. I have the option enabled to link expansion and visibility with folder tracks, so I would expect the channel list to also reflect the use of folders, but it doesn't. This was really confusing when trying to track down my unmuted tracks because it's very difficult to distinguish between what is an intentionally hidden/disabled track and what is only hidden because it's in a folder. Is there a rationale for this that I'm missing? To me, it makes it feel like the "link expansion and visibility of folder tracks" is more of a workaround using show/hide than an actual mirroring of the mixer/arrangement views.
The more I use S1 as my main DAW (5+ years now), the more frustrated I become with the forced use of separated tracks and channels. I understand the reasoning behind it and appreciate that it can be helpful in certain workflows and situations, but it often ends up creating more hassle and confusion for me than anything else. As such a flexible and customizable DAW, I'm surprised that S1 doesn't provide users with the option to toggle a 1:1 relationship between tracks and channels.
I don't mean to come off as complainy with these questions- just really passionate about this software and want to understand design decisions slash help make improvement suggestions as a dedicated user. FWIW, I'm on S1 7.2.2.
