Feature request- navigation.

Hi guys, first of all thanks for all those useful scripts and all the job done already. I use these navigation add-ons daily (frame, grid, beats scrolling...)
However I know something was requested many times and never adressed by Presonus team :

- Zoom to cursor (horizontally)
Or :
- Zoom to play marker (horizontally)

None of the scrolling options recently added by Presonus adressed that specific point, which speeds up editing and can be found in nearly all other editors out there.

It allows to precisely zoom on the choosen area using shortcuts or rotary encoders, and if you use midi control surface to set up the cursor position, to even avoid using the mouse.

To this very day zooming is always imprecise, involves drifting and is so time consuming.

Thank you,
Kind regards

Note : I know there is kind of workaround : "zooming to selection", but this involves again mouse clicking and does not allow to choose any level of magnification anyway (All or nothing)

Thank you ;)
One has really to experience it to understand how handy is this. If you have Reaper installed on your system, you can easily check it out by clicking on the timeline at the desired position, and then simply turn your mousewheel : zooming will take place at the exact play cursor position, gradually, depending on how much you turn the mousewheel, no matter where the cursor is positioned on the timeline. No more usual erratic drifting like in Studio One, it's precise and you don't have to try and try again repositioning your mouse on the timeline in order to find the sweet spot.

Sorry but zooming can't "take place at the exact cursor position". Zooming always affects the whole timeline/arrangement.

yes, of course, but the global zooming remains CENTERED at the edit cursor position in all those programs, unlike in Studio one. In Cubase that means that you always see the choosen position (which is based on the cursor position) in the center of the screen, which is repositioned automatically. No drifting.

Ah okay, so actually it’s not about the zoom itself - you just want the cursor to stay in the center of the screen when you zoom in/out. I see.

This has been one of my biggest issues with Studio One since I started using it back at Artist 3.x.

Zooming in Reaper, Cubase /Nuendo, Protools, Davinci Resolve, all do timeline view zooming SO much better than Studio One. I put up with it, but I have never liked it, and even voted on a feature request to improve it.

Using fixed playhead helps, but it messes with years of muscle memory. Just needs to be fixed…imho…
