This is an issue since the beginning of time it seems, and I can reproduce this issue in 8.0.2 Windows (unfortunately!).
If somebody could try to repro this with any Faderport or Mackie or Atom SQ (Song Button -> Page 2 - Rec) that would be great - thx!
Here are the steps to repro:
Create say 5 audio tracks.
Create a folder, and stick two audio tracks in it.
Select any track, outside the folder with a mouse
With a mouse select the Record Arm button associated with the folder, and the first two audio tracks within the folder will arm which is expected behaviour.
Now once again, Select any track, outside the folder with a mouse.
Then select the folder with a mouse.
With a Faderport OR Atom SQ or Mackie device, select the arm record button
ISSUE:
... and that will record enable the last track selected, even outside the folder. Now arming the wrong tracks is not good for workflow at all!
The rather rubbish workaround is to assign custom user defined buttons to do this or don't use a controller (which is the whole point).
BTW I think this actual issue began on V4 or V5 of Studio One (not in the 1800's).
Video below.
(Please note I said "Atom Classic" when I of course meant "Faderport Classic" sorry).
