autosaving and the astericks

hi, super quick one. a while ago now, i had a project which didn't seem to be autosaving at all. i fiddled around with the time interval in the setting. anyway, in this new project, the autosave feature does seem to be working, because when i go to restore versions, i can see autosaved copies. however, when i have the song open, right at the top, above the top taskbar with file , edit, song etc, i can see the name of my song with an astericks. i always thought that astericks meant i had made a change and hadn't pressed save since. does this astericks go if i didn't touch the song and then an autosave occurred. i also don't seem to see the autosaves occur anymore by the dialog box popping up briefly.

No. The asterisk means there have been changes since you last saved manually. It indicates that there are unsaved changes to this song file. Autosave copies are not considered actual saves to the current song file.

There have been several changes and optimizations in the v6 cycle. One of them was that - if I remember correctly, I did not look it up - autosave is suppressed during playback (and recording).
