Accessing PSO, Symphonic Orchestra (pref fr: D drive)

Hey, just wondering, first time doing this......

I loaded from transfers, the Symphonic Orchestra. The files reside in my Presonus/Soundsets folder.
•PSO Classic Orchestra.soundset
•PSO Contemporary Strings.soundset
•PSO Musicloops.soundset

My first questions how do I initialize them to be seen in Presence.

My 2nd question is the more important one.
My C drive is a little full these days, so I'd like to place the soundsets on my D drive and access them that way.

I didnt see enough info on the Orhestral readme file to decipher setup.

Suggestion to have this work right from the soundsets residing on the D drive? They are located there now.
Thank you.

Have you added the path to Options>Locations>Soundsets?

That's not a problem. You can have your Sound Sets on different drives/partitions/folders. I have them on three separate drives.

Just make sure the correct folder is added in the Options as @BobF mentioned.

After a restart PSO should appear under Presence in the Browser.

The Musicloops are located in the Files tab under Sound Sets.

Thanks guys, I'll check this later.

@ BobF, I did. I created the path where the three reside.
d:\S1 added Soundsets

For now, I'm avoiding the existing (default) soundset scan location already designated within Studio One for my other soundsets.

No PSO soundsets ever show up, so far.

Thanks Lucas also for assisting. I'm sure its a senior moment. ; )
I'll check shortly. 👍

Thx Lucas, exactly looking for that to happen.

Checked and ran the above.

Understood. Not showing there.

Also,
Does "Re-Index Presets" on the Home Tab of the Browser change anything?
Tried this. I thought for sure re-indexing would do it, as I hadn't tried that yet. Didn't work. Performed re-boots afterwards as well.

So I even have the PSO's (3 soundsets) in both my d drive, and where all my Studio One Sound Sets are stored, at:
C:\users\documents\Studio One\Sound Sets

I'm begining to think the soundset files are corrupt. But the extensions are there, and they show up in Explorer with the blue icon. Also the file sizes are correct.

When I look in the browser under the files tab, under Studio One>Sound Sets, no PSO's appear The other soundsets do appear such as Big Fish, MVP Loops and Kits, etc.

What happens if you drag one of them into Studio One?
Yeah, that was one of the first things I tried. I would drag one in at a time from Explorer. A window would display that it was reading the file. This took just a few seconds, but then nothing. No indication of a PSO to be found anywhere. I even searched the Files browser for "PSO", just in case it was in some other folder. Nothing.

Thanks guys, I'll check this later.

Can I ask bit of senior moment question...can you post a screen shot of Options, Locations, Sound sets.
Not knowing what it might show, but it is a link in the chain as to where SO1 is looking.

Kindest regards

Absolutely. It will have to be later in the day. No problem. ; )

Maybe @Lukas can answer this...

Should the files reside in a folder Drive:\folder any_name\sound sets...

I am thinking about SO1 system declared aliase variable $name for a folder where sound sets reside

Is studio one looking for a folder specific name? and not for the sound sets?
I wouldn't know for sure as I do not code, I just read a lot of tech stuff and did some Dos and Basic coding when puters were first released.

I s'pose another way asking the same question, are the files directly stored in d:\S1 added Soundsets, where as SO1 is expecting to find
d:\S1 added Soundsets\Sound sets (here we are) where your files should be?

Just a thought maybe it will help, just shooting into the dark as they say.

Kind regards

Why I'm glad the suggestion was made to screen capture. Upon looking further, I see there are 2 folders listed as Sound Sets. One folder resides inside Studio One (highlighted in blue as selected). No contents reside in it.
The other folder just below, also shown open, has all my sound sets. That folder resides next to the Studio One folder, and not in it.

Before Ii start moving any contents around, I wanted to point this out. It may not even matter, as Lukas noted he has multiple drives with sound sets. I'm not sure if the folder residing inside the Studio one folder is causing some interference.

Additionally, the other preferred location (also attached) shows the d drive path without any contents. Paths were double checked for accuracy.

I'm stumped.
Note, my options >sound set paths also set as shown.

Just to be clear - since your screenshots don't show the Sound Sets between "Presence XT..." and "...Studio One". These three are not in the list (I mean under the Sound Sets folder, not in Studio One)?

That's correct, here the actual file system file appear empty, too.

Lokeyfly,
I think this runs along the lines of having a folder named "Sound Sets" inside your folder on the D drive
Then copy and paste the stuff from the root folder D:\S1 Soundsets into that folder.

If it's a fail then you can just delete the new folder and if that is the case, I'm sure Lucas will be the best person to assist.

Regards as always, I will refrain for now as I may be confusing matters.

Yeah Lukas, I was prepared to show the whole sound set contents, and I do have that screen capture. I didn't send it due to time constraints. For now, just know that the 3 PSO soundsets you show, are not in my listing. That ultimately is what I've been looking for, but I understand your need to ask. Ill provide that later (in a few hours).

Thx for noting about the same empty sound set file structure.
FWIW, I never have relocated sound set folders, so I'd have thought like my other soundsets, they all have always worked, every time.

Could be. I'll try that, sintil8. However, please note, I also have the 3 PSO sound sets in the default Soundset folder along with all of my others. Still, no sign of them appearing. Not after re-indexing, not after dragging in, etc.
Nuttin'
I'll rename the folder as you suggest. Ill also remove the other soundsets residing in the default Sound Set folder. Then report back.
Perhaps there is an issue with multiple soundsets of the same type.

Thanks for the assistance.

Lokey,
I have sound sets scatterd all over the place... Most of it due to older projects and migration issues from puter to puter.

All of my sound sets are located in Sound Set folders.... have a look at my mess the attached pic all directories end with ( \Sound Set )
The PSO classic etc are available on my system, I really should tidy up, but it works and I am not going to fix something that works.

Regards

Do you have senior moments as well.:D

Regards to the crumblies on here.

I *think* I remember using this convention for ease of identity from file manager. Tomorrow I may remember a different reasoning :D
