This is the computer I purchsed 2023 HP Envy x360 and these are the specs (Processor 11th Gen Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-1195G7 @ 2.90GHz, 1805 Mhz, 4 Core(s), 8 Logical Processor(s). It runs studio one 7 pro fine when iam recoding vocals but as soon as I add my Arturia key lab essentials 47 key its starts a crazy popping noise and bottoms out when I am slightly using it. When I attempt to make a track it constantly popping and freezing up. i was told i needed to upgrade any suggestion to what i m=need to get>?????

Before you start running off to break the bank, did you try to adjust the block size and dropout protection settings? See https://s1manual.presonus.com/en/St...htm#Setup_Topics/Set_Up_Your_Audio_Device.htm
Also, did you optimise your computer for audio work? https://my.presonus.com/support/articles?section=201961343&article=4411398662797
Depending on what you want to do, your processor seems capable enough to me.
Thank you for the response i did all of that and i was in a live chat with presonus and they told me that trying to run that virtual instrument is causing this issue that why i asked what was the best mini pc under 1k because they claim my computer is outdated

And - be sure to rule out Core Parking if "popping" and "glitching" are key factors and Windows 11 is in play.

This OS needs to be heavily tweaked for it to behave for audio use - especially is 23H2 or very early 24H2 is being used.

Your PC is more than capable of running S1 and a bunch of plugins.
The only way adding a MIDI controller can cause the symptoms you describe is if you have a MIDI "feedback" loop happening where MIDI notes go from keyboard to S1 and then go back to the keyboard and so on so a single note event runs round in circles forever and overwhelms everything. So it might be down to something as simple as the controller configuration.

As @Davey stated; make sure that the keyboard is set to input (only) MIDI data... there is no need for it to be bidirectional.
Only the control surface device needs to be bidirectional (play, stop, record, et al).

i also went through some steps similar to what you sent me from presonous youtube guru that
What VST instrument are your trying to run?

Just adding a MIDI controller like the Keylab shouldn't cause any processor load.
it only happens when i use that keylab though other than that I can record vocals and mix just fine. but when i satrt making track with that keyboard the popcorn starts popping

i have tried this also the lower oi go the poppier it gets but even when i am running a block size over 100 as soon as i use the medi keyboard it starts popping again

ok when I get off work i will try that can you tell me where to find that because i did what Arturia and presonus told me on live chat and i sent them a screen shot and they said it was right i went through the medi control center app and inside presonous in there configuration

i recently uninstalled the kontact because it was freezing up the computer and causing my session to crash
I did that also with Kontact & Slate Drums years ago and that cleared up many issues I was having. Could it have been me
back then? Yeah, for sure. Having windows Vista at the time didn't help either. Music creation as been very good with Studio One and a Mac System :p🖖🍿

Ok I will do that when I get back home
