Solved What exactly does Plugin Manager's "Remove Plugin Settings" do?

Does it:

- work on all Plugin Formats the same (VST, VST3, CLAP, Stock)?
- remove Plugin's "Favorite" Status?
- remove Custom Folder Sorting (or change anything else in "PluginPresentation.settings" file)?
- reset "Last Used" State?
- remove Hide/Show states?
- reset Micro Edit Parameters?
- remove Parameter Mappings from Control Devices?
- remove/reset Default Presets?
- remove other User Presets?
- reset Plugin Blacklist?
- clean up or otherwise change "Plugins-en.settings" file?
- change anything else?

To my knowledge - only this:

  1. Destroys the existing S1 Plugin database
  2. Resets Plugin blacklist
  3. Prompts user for a full rescan following button press - always say Yes.
Do not effect any of the other things you have listed above.

The S1 plugin database can be very dense (in the head) - when it comes to plugin "removals" (it thinks things are installed when they are not) > especially if third party and especially if one removes the product outside of S1. Waves plugins are nasty in this regard and a few others.

The only thing that fixes it - is clicking this nuclear option. I use this once per month to ensure my environment is accurate - whether it needs it or not.

I have to choose that option almost every time I install a Waves plugin.

Yes - can hardly believe the sheer lack of programming ability or the bizarre installer these guys use. VERY difficult to get this stuff working most of the time.

Thanks for letting me know.
Had the courage to try it on my less plugin-loaded machine. It indeed seems to just recreate/rewrite the "Plugins-en.settings" file after S1 Restart Plugin Scan. This process leaves out any previous entries of now nonexistent plugins on the computer which results in a streamlined smaller file. Could not identify any other changes. Good to know.

I beta test for a plugin company and am always amused that their earliest release alpha plugins aren't as stubborn to install as waves plugins. It boggles my mind.
