Solved Waves IDX Dynamics plugin and Studio One 7.1

Anyone here using Waves IDX Dynamics plugin? I have it one some tracks in the song I have been working on. After the update to 7.1, Studio One says it is not installed. I removed the plugin from the tracks, closed S1, re-installed IDX via Wave Central, restarted Studio One with a plugin rescan. IDX shows up the the FX browser but dragging it to the insert area on an audio track does nothing.

Lukas, thanks for the reply. I use VST3. I have the latest plugin version. It was working with S1 7.0 and the problem occurred immediately after updating to 7.1

By the way, I thought I put my post in the 7.1 thread but somehow didn't.

I am using it. VST3 is working for me in 7.1.

Have you rebooted? Not to be snarky, I had to after installing 7.1 to get everything working as it did before.

I hadn't rebooted but just now did, and then re-scanned the plugins. Unfortunately the problem still exists. Thanks for the suggestion though.

How do you do the rescan? From the Plug-In Manager or by letting it do a scan at every startup? The latter is necessary after a plug-in update. I had the same issue with several Waves plug-ins.

This sounds like a hiccup in the Wavesshell. I would use rhe complete clean uninstall in Waves Central, reboot the system and install again. To be sure, remove the plugins-en.settings file from the settings folder as well before scanning again.

Thanks. Do you mean uninstall the IDX plugin or Waves Central or the Wavesshell?

I found a "Repair" in Wave Central's settings. It said it would reinstall all plugins. After that re-install. a PC reboot, and a startup VST scan in S1, the problem still happens.

I highly recommend following Monobrowser's advice and doing a complete clean uninstall/re-install. There are instructions on the Waves website that tell how to do this. In my decades of using Waves products, I have yet to encounter a problem that a clean uninstall/install couldn't solve. FWIW IDX is working here with 7.1 and Windows 10.

Solution:

"Please go to the Waves Central installer and in the options, click on Repair. Also, make sure Studio One is rescanning the plugins, in Studio One > View > Plugin manager, press the Remove Plug-in Settings button and the Update Plug-ins button list.
If the plugin still does not work, please reach out to Waves to troubleshoot. "

When I clicked "Remove Plug-in Settings" in Plugin Manager, it restarted S1. I had it set to scan at startup so after the restart and scan, I was able to use Waves IDX. I did not have to click the "Update Plug-ins" button as instructed.
