There are several ways to externally automate macro commands etc.
This example uses keyboard shortcut software like Sound flow or Keyboard Maestro on Mac.
This example uses touch screen midi software.
Midi notes are used as a cue & inserted in the timeline at specific points. The cue will activate & deactivate the transport & recording mechanism.. The cue track which contains the midi event can be assigned to any utility or task. Eg Hands free recording when clip launching.
Trigger a midi noise gate , switch mixer scenes. Skip between sections of the song ,insert a plug in effect, change presets etc. It's possible to create a workflow where the software can randomly play, record and mix itself with midi note , velocity ,midi cc or open sound control.
I hope these workflows can be considered & supported by some utility in a update.
