Unable to connect keyboard.

Hello. Despite carefully following all the instructions and videos on how to connect a keyboard to Studio One 7 it still won't connect. I have a Korg PA1000 keyboard.
I want to be able to use Presence, Mai Tai and other instruments. I am connecting my keyboard from the using a USB from the device socket at the rear of the keyboard to the USB input of my AudioBox iTwo. I have also tried with the 5pin sockets. Nothing works so I cannot use the various sounds and instruments in Presence or Mai Tai etc. Any advice would be useful. Many thanks.

Just throwing out some ideas. In Studio One settings have you selected your midi device and set it up there? Does it show up in the settings window? I know with my keyboard there are two ports that have to be selected. One for the keyboard and one for the control surface features.

If I understand correctly, you've connected the keyboard to the audio interface, which is not correct for controlling VST instruments in Studio One.

You need to connect the type B (squarish) USB port on the rear of the PA1000 to a USB port on the computer, which will then enable the computer's OS to detect the PA1000, report it to Studio One, and let you configure it in Studio One.

Are you running on a Mac or PC?

USB connection is for audio, 5-Pin DINs are for MIDI...

For Windows, download and install the USB-MIDI driver...

Then add the keyboard to Studio One->Options->External Devices

5 pin din I call legacy midi, you should also be able to get midi over the usb port. I prefer to plug the audio outputs of the keyboard into the audio interface to get the sounds the keyboard makes. It can be done over usb but I never used it, Takes a little more configuration.

But plugging the usb in to the computer should show up when you go to create an external device, which if you want midi input would be a keyboard device you need to create then you can use that device as an input oh a virtual instrument track, hit the monitor button to hear live input.

If the device isn't that with the usb plugged in and keyboard on then it might need a driver from korg, just generally speaking, not familiar with your keyboard.

There's a lot to talk about when it comes to how you want to use an arranger keyboard in S1.
