Solved Two questions about sends/aux tracks.

Hello,

I tend to mostly use the side panel (F4 - in case it has an actual name) in my workflow, and was wondering if there is a way to search for a plugin for the sends, like it's the case with inserts by clicking on the "+" icon.

Also, when removing a send, is it possible to remove the aux channel it is attached to? I find it a bit annoying to open the mixer all the time when I want to try a reverb for instance. I always end up with plenty of aux channels that I don't use.

Hi,

Your side panel (F4) is called the Inspector, the area at the bottom of the screen with all the faders is called the Console (Mix).

The Inspector is single track/event focused where the Console is channel overview focused. So an Aux channel is deleted from the Console, by right-clicking its strip and choosing 'Remove' or via the Channel List (4-lines button at the very bottom lefthand corner of the Console window. I don't think there's a keyboard shortcut option for it.

Sends don't have their own inserts. They're pre- or post-fader copies of the channel including the channel's inserts. If you want additional inserts on sends then send them to buses first.

Hope that helps :)

Yes it does, thanks. I kind of expected that answer in all honesty, but still hoped for an option that I hadn't noticed yet 😅.

You can remove any channels in the console (Aux channels included) with the "remove channel" key command:

And, you can remove any insert from an effects channel and replace it with any other plugin. That requires using the console (mixer), but it prevents a lot of empty FX channels...

Yeah, it will always be through the Console.

What may work for you is to detach the Console, make the window as small as will still fit the Channel List, move it to a convenient place on your screen and close it. Now the Mix button (or F3) will take you straight to the Channel List. Bit of a hack but hey 🙃
