Transform audio to midi

Hi
I am new to studio one.
I am trying to transform an audio track to midi but in the track menu > transform, nothing is highlighted once I have selected a clip or an audio track.
I own Melodyne essential.
Do I need the full version to be able to do that?

Transform applies effects to an audio track, or converts Instrument tracks into audio. It's not part of the audio-to-MIDI process. For audio-to-MIDI conversion:

1. Open Melodyne on the audio Event you want to covert.
2. Create an instrument track and drag the audio Event into it.
3. The instrument track will have the extracted MIDI data.

There are a few cautions:

• Although you can't edit polyphonic audio data within Melodyne Essential, you can drag polyphonic or monophonic audio into the instrument track and edit the track.
• Audio-to-MIDI is not an exact science. You'll need to do a lot of editing and cleanup.
• Pitch bend data won't translate.

If you run into a problem, circle back and we'll troubleshoot it.
