Hey everyone,

a new with version is online with some important fixes.
Here the announcement thread.

Happy discussion!
Ari

Great news!
Smooth installation of the update here ;)
The responsiveness of the development team is greatly appreciated.

Cheers Ari, at this point in time the turn around of fixing stuff appears to have some meat on it's bones.

Kind regards to all.

Thanks for the tip but unfortunately I have to stick with version 6 because that's the version I have the least amount of trouble with. Tried a few projects with 7 and encountered some really bizarre problems that nobody here seems to have any answers for (and I've asked). I did my past 2 projects with 6 and no trouble at all. I don't mean to knock ver 7. It obviously works for everybody else here and I'm happy for you all but I need to do what works for me.

:) John B

Open a new song, add an instrument to the canvas (like Mai Tai, Pigments), add a sequencer to the canvas (like Stepic, HY-MPS3, Riffer), make sure that the sequencer is linked to the instrument. In S1 7.0 this produces sound, in 7.1 there's nothing to be heard.

I've opened a ticket at support.

That's kind of scary. Only because this is common ground for many song startups. This is a very simple procedure, as it only requires adding an instrument. Then by adding a sequencer and placing that at the instruments input. Let's say for example Stepic is placed at the input of Pigments. Now..... you then must set the instruments monitor button to on (otherwise, the instrument will not be heard). That simply has to work, or this would be very abnormal in ANY release and has never happened. Let us know if that fixed the problem. Thanks.

Sorry, I wasn't complete, there's one more action needed: now add a new instrument, that's when 7.1 stops producing sounds

Maybe it's just me, but it almost seems 7.1.1 renders faster. Just rendered a 49 (all VSTi) track song that is 4 min long in about 1 min.

Huh, please keep us posted. I'd load v7.1 to check, only I'm in the middle of a few releases. This would be a serious miss, if is the case. Can someone with SO v7.1 confirm this? TY (ahead).

V 7.1.1. Scaler into Arturia CS 80 works as expected
Arturia Pigments Seq (OSC's switched off ) the sequencer feeding the CS 80 both work as expected.
TY in advance accepted:cool:

👍.... So this seems to be SOP with no issue. Probably best to leave it with MarcelH to continue to work with support.

@MarcelH, Scaler is really like any sequencer where it can drive another instruments input to trigger those sounds. Unless I'm missing something, I'm going to guess adding another instrument is going to be easy to do. What you additionally might want to do is create a post here stating the full issue, and provide any additional information or screenshots you can. That might help over and above your creating a ticket with Presonus support. It certainly could add to the visability. Your call.

I have Scaler, and CS-80, so I made a new project with these 2 on it, with for me the same result: 7.0 ok, and 7.1 not ok. Still waiting for support to respond...

There is one option you could try, the old get out of jail card, which was to trash your preferences folder, just in case something has become corrupted during an update. I am guessing that something in your upgrade to 7.1 has changed. As @lokeyfly said, it might be something support need to sort out tho'.

Please read the information from the link below, and make your own mind up. I take no responsibility for your system setup.

Best regards, hope you get it sorted OK.

Thanks, I'll have a look at it later today, have to go out now.
I won't blame you if I make a mess of things :)
BTW, I've tested the last incarnations of V6 and V4, as well as Reaper 7.31 and Cubase 14, they all worked as expected..

The reset did the trick! Thanks.

The reset did the trick! Thanks.
Glad to see it's sorted.
But credit where credit is due, Lukas and the folks that put this forum together are the ones to thank. This sort of info was scattered all over the old SO1 forum.
Best regards to all.

The instructions for the preference deletion in this thread seem to be for PC. Is there a set of clear instructions for Mac?
Thank you for the help[.
