Splitter package

Hey guys, I had a thought, how cool would it be if when you added a splitter plugin it became a kind of insert container for all the plugins you have running within it. You’d then essentially be able to create your own custom plugins. The functionality the way it is now is great, so many cool things that can be done but it gets pretty confusing and messy when you have a lot of splits going on and especially when you also have other inserts on the same track which aren’t being split.

It would then also allow for a splitter master bypass which would also be super handy. You could drag the splitter bundle/container insert to another track along with everything within it just like a normal plugin. The macro controls would act like the ‘plugin gui’. You could save it as an fx chain so you could drag it onto a track as just a single plugin amongst whatever else you already have on that track.
Anyway, I’m sure it’s already been thought about, but nice to be able to share my studio one fantasies 😜

Have you taken a look at the blog posts of Craig Anderton? He's sharing FX chains with extensive macro control mappings regularly. Very much like what you're suggesting I think?

Actually Craig’s splitter chains are what inspired this idea. They’re super cool but when you have a load of plugins in the splitter it very quickly fills up your insert chain. I’m suggesting that it’d be nice if all the plugins used within splitter get packaged into one insert slot which would then be easy to move around, copy, bypass etc

I can see a few key places where this would be beneficial. Acoustic guitar splits, bass guitar splits, electric guitar, vox splits, etc. Many requirIng different setups, fx, and nuances.

It's a little bit like having a preset with a splitter layout with required plugs, only more maneuverable.

I have many such splits on 3rd party plugins, but being able to include or maintain exclusive Studio One effects would be pretty tidy.

I totally agree on that, sorry I didn't catch that at first. It does get cluttered easily in the tiny slot menu..
