I'm pretty sure this can't be done, but just wanted to see if there was maybe a work around. So I am interested in doing some auto gain matching on a channel so I can make changes to things like a compressor or other plugins and not be fooled by a gain increase. I know there are several paid gain compensation plugins where you put one copy of the plugin before your plugin chain and then another after them and it will auto gain match no matter what happens in-between them. However there is a free one from Melda Productions called Magc. With this one, you just place one copy of the plugin at the end of your chain and then you are supposed to sidechain it with the pre-fx audio from the same channel. Ableton Live lets you do that right in the plugin per the demo I saw. I assumed Studio One could do this too, but when I click the down arrow for the Sidechain, I only have options for OTHER channels, not the channel I am currently on. Is this just the way it is and I can't use a plugin like this in Studio One? Or is there some other way to make that work? Maybe somehow with Splitter? I was trying to come up with a way, but can't think of one.
