Solved S1 7.1.1 1st Note not playing on Recording with Keyboard.

It seems a old Bug has returned ARI.

The 1st note isn't playing or hearable when recording with a keyboard which is irritating.

I think this bug was fixed years ago. Now its back.

Hi and welcome to the forum!

This is another issue that...

a) should be reported to PreSonus tech support and

b) you need to provide more details for. You describe the problem as if we know exactly what it's about. Does it happen during recording or playback? Does it persist when you reopen the song or restart Studio One? Does it happen all the time or sporadically? Is it on any track and instrument or only with specific tracks/instruments? Do you have a video showing the behavior?

MIDI recording works as expected here.

One thing that you can check is your Dropout Protection setting. If it's set to High or Max, try a lower setting or turn it off completely.

The weird page at the Presonus website is useless.

maybe you try to play note with a Loop- CYLE at the Start of a project 4Bars, 1 to 5
Then Metronome On and you play a Kick or Synth exactly at 01 with your keyboard and it wont play but save the Midi data.

its a old bug, refreshed, Ari will fix it because more users will send bug reports very soon.

I do quite a lot of midi recording and I am not seeing this, ever. So it might be something with your setup and not a bug at all. How are you recording exactly. If you play a note even a fraction early at the start of a new midi event it may not get picked up. What happens when you set Input quantise on. Does it pick it up then. Try being relaxed with the first note you play after the count in etc.. Do you use a count in? More info would help too. What is your midi interface. What keyboard are you using and how is it connected. (midi USB etc)

Could you provide more info like a screen recording of the potential bug? Having just a text about something like this is not helpful, we need steps to reproduce, I am not seeing this on my machine (yet). You could also maybe provide a song template where the problem occurs that you can share with us and we could test that as well.
