Gotcha, big PF fan here as well, only from Animals and older. Ok, I'll add the Wall to that.
Your explanation is clearer now. TY.
Yeah, the nature of a lapsteel is awesome for sound. Although the nature is very different than a Strat, so right from the vibration & resonance of the instrument, it's just going to be different. Add to that, pickup differences, etc. Gilmore's sound is largely sought after, but more times than not, not easily found or convincing. Good luck though.
I bought my first Hi Watt Stack because of Gilmore. Well, him and another few who used them. A Custom Hi Watt 50, with two 4-12 bottoms.
If I'm able to give the best advice, locate a few YT vids that sound convincing to you. Perhaps look at Neural DSP as they make the most convincing amp-cab models I've come across. I'm afraid Studio One in all it's glory isn't going to put the sell on a Gilmore sound. Particularly the kind of lead you mention. Why? The effect processing is just not up to any great pedal emulations. I would try instead the VST effects processing in S1 as at least being far superior than Ampire. Only there too, the flange, Chorus, and such are quite weak with little dimension. Great DAW, and to be fair no DAW is going to cover that.
Explore channel splitting (Splitter) as you'll have a better chance. Try using the crossover to split channels by EQ. Probable 800 hz to 1.2 kHz. Maybe a flange to one side, slight delay to the other to get his very ambient sound. That's a start, anyway.
Thx for the equipment list. Add that to your signature, and you'll never have to add that again. It really helps.

Check out an old Floyd song to get some of Gilmores old slide technique down. Check out "Wot's Uh the Deal" from the Obscured by Clouds album.

Cheers!
