Project Page Question re Reference from Song

If I change the folder where a song folder lives (e.g., move the song folder from 2024 Album Project to 2025 Album Project), and the song already references a Project, the reference gets lost. I've looked for a way to tell the Project to look elsewhere for the song, and also tried using shortcuts so that the Project thinks it's referencing the song, but haven't figured out a solution.

Am I missing something? If not, there's a workaround, but I first wanted to make sure I wasn't missing something obvious.

The only linked way I know would be to resend the new song from it's new location (2025 Album Project) once opened in Studio One Songs page, then send to designated Project. It won't, replace the old song in that project (which is potentially a good thing for comparisons). You can then delete the old 2024 folder song.

Sneaky lil' workaround. You probably already know this Craig, but if you opt to import a song from in the Project's file>Import tab to import a song from Windows file manager, Project won't worry about the file being updated or relocated and having to alert you. The song simply remains static. Choose as you need. This is also a great way to add a reference mix/song to your project for mastering or comparing.

Craig may know this, but I did not. Awesome way to get a reference track into a project without adding it to an album/project. Very useful. Thanks James!
