Solved PreSonus Quantum HD 8 not working after latest update

Yesterday I upgraded Presonus Universal Control to v4_6_1_104762. After installation, Universal Control recommended upgrading firmware; when I tried, it said it couldn't connect to the device. Despite the device's ability to transmit sound, Studio One informs me that it cannot initialize the device during setup.

Other DAWs can't see the Quantum

I've reinstalled the Universal Control software a number of times and changed USB cables three times.

I'm running Windows 11, and everything looks good in Device Manager.

Do I now have a brick after trying to update the drivers?

UPDATE: I was able to update the firmware successfully, but I can't get the unit to initialize and be recognized by other DAWS.

This might sound silly, but when you updated UC, did you select and install the correct drivers for your audio unit. For me, I always have check several times to make I have checked my Quantum and thunderbolt drivers.

I'm not having any issues with the Quantum HD8 running Windows 11 24H2 and the following:
Universal Control: v4.6.1.104762
Quantum HD8 Firmware: v2.17
DAWs: Studio One Pro 7.1.1, Ableton Live 10, Reason 12, Pro Tools 2024.10.2

Does Windows 11 Sound Settings, Universal Control and Studio One recognize your Quantum HD8?
What DAWs are not recognizing your Quantum HD8?
Are you running any Firewall or Antivirus products?

I'd recommend uninstalling and reinstalling Universal Control followed by a reboot.
If that doesn't work, submit a Support Ticket (see link in my signature).

I'm running Windows 11, with Quantum Firmware version 2.17
  • Quantum Firmware version 2.17.
  • Firewall & Antivirus uninstalled.
  • DAWs=Studio One Pro v7.1 & Cakewalk [Quantum not visible in either].
  • Nothing abnormal in Device Manager.
  • Audio passes thru the Quantum(via Windows Audio).
  • UC not visible in Studio One mixer.
  • I've tried different versions of the driver with same results.
  • I've rebooted device and Windows quite a few times, reinstall UC drivers no fewer than 8 times, along with clean uninstall from registry as well.
Studio One acknowledges Quantum HD8 drivers, but it can't initialize the device (Quantum).

Did you submit a Support Ticket (see link in my signature) yet?
If not (and you tried what I recommended and it still doesn't work) that's what you'll need to do.

Here's where it gets interesting: I logged into my account at my.presonus.com and clicked the 'Support' link at the top of the page. I then clicked the "+" sign to create a ticket. and this is what I'm getting (see attached picture).....

When a user creates a PreSonus account an email is sent for the user to confirm which then activates your account.

Did you do that?

Also, if you click Products on that page it should show all the products you've registered to your account.

Yes, all my products are listed under the Products tab. I'll have to contact the place of purchase and go from there-thanks for helping.
