Solved Opening an old template that used VST 2 plugins

I've got a large template with many 3rd party plugins (mostly Slate Digital) but when I open it it's saying the plugins are not on the computer. I'm guessing this is because the template is using older versions.

Am I stuck recreating every plugin and it's settings or is there a way to resolve this automagically?

Thanks for any advice!

Please update your signature (see link and example in mine) to include your system specs so we can answer these kind of questions.

Are all the VST2 plugins used in the old template installed on your computer?
Are the correct folder paths defined in Studio One?

If the old plugins are non-existant - there is no magical fix.

You will need to recreate the environment precisely the way that template saw it - way back when.

Or allow the template to fail over and over while you open it over and over and replace each old instance with a new instance - with the understanding that whatever settings and parameters you set in the old plugins will be lost.

Check https://s1toolbox.com/ and load your template - it will show which plugins were used and you can then make a list and change them.
In case you are on a Mac I can recommend a program called pluginfo that will help you with what versions are installed and which you should change:
