Solved Note editor shows "zone" text instead of pitches for notes

Can someone explain why the note editor shows the "zone" text instead of pitches for notes?

If I redo everything then pitches are displayed but the next time I open the project the zone text returns. There's no (obvious) way to enforce S1's default behavior. The zone text only appears for certain presets. (Sonic 7 VST3, Polarity preset)

So what S1 displays is a synth patch but with placeholder pitch texts of a drum map. (Nothing to do with sound variations).

I don't remember anymore how I got there and I can't reproduce it trying for 30 minutes. I also don't know how to delete nonsense drum maps. Simply changing the patch then reload or just VST reload won't reset the drum map either. Only full VST replacement works. (I tried deleting the thread but couldn't figure out how. I'll more careful the next time.)
