Solved Not recording on a specific song

Hi all.

This is probably a simple thing to fix, but I can't work it out. I have a song I'm working on, however when I press the record button, it just plays and doesn't actually record. As you can see, the recording is armed on the track I'm trying to record to. And yesterday it was working just fine!

Other songs will record, so it's specific to this one. Please help me with whatever I'm missing as I'm sure it's something I've pressed and not realised.

Not sure if that's the issue, but you've got 2 channels (lead vocal and vox) armed with the same input.

I did turn one of them off after I posted, but I still get the non-recording issue. But thanks for replying :)

At a guess you could look at the following.
Check your asio settings and input channels are set correctly in the song settings page.
There appears to be an icon of a soundcard with a no entry sign on that icon (the circle with a diagonal line) it's on the left of the bottom menu bar,
You do not have a soundcard selected!

Hope this helps, regards

Thanks - that symbol was because of a setting I'd triggered by accident which meant my interface stopped when I moved away from the Studio One window (which happened when I used the Snipping Tool to take the screenshot).

All of the ASIO settings are as they should be and I've just been recording vocals in another song without issue and I can't see anything different between them on the screen. I'm thinking I may just need to bounce all the stems from this song into a new one and start again that way but I'd prefer to avoid that if possible as I have a lot of the basics set up already in this session.

Ok, it seems I can record if I double click the record button.... Single clicking just plays. I've clearly messed some setting up somewhere.

You have "Auto Punch" enabled (see icon inside red box below).
Disable that and Record will work again with a single click.

This is fun, it's like a search picture! Hope Trucky's find is your solution.

Thanks, I'll have to play around with that later! I think I had that activated by design, but now I think about it I probably need to have a loop active for that to work as I'd intended. So I think you've hit the nail on the head!

Much appreciated! :)

It's the new forum pastime, they used to call it find the hidden mistakes. I think Trucky won that one:cool:
