Not able to stretch events using alt+left click

Hi all, I recently switched from Studio One 6 to 7 and I am unable to stretch audio and MIDI events using the alt+left click from the end of an event. for audio events, it only works if I hover the cursor over the visible waveform...and that too shrinks the waveform inwards only(can't stretch outwards) while keeping the event length intact.

Pretty frustrating as I am doing sound design work and need to stretch and cut very frequently.

Please Help! I don't know if this is a bug or something.

This happened to me quite a few times. Seemed that it would just lock up and functions either lagged or didn't work until I restarted the program. It's why I cancelled my v7 sub and went back to v6 which still works perfectly doing the same thing. It's as if the program was lagging on calculating sometimes. Other times it ran fine.

That's so bad, this is not even a week of me switching to the version 7. it's been a few months now since the release of SO 7, PreSonus should've fixed major bugs like these. I just updated to the latest 7.1.1 version as well, the issue is not fixed in this version as well. Very disappointing.

Hmmm. What OS are you on? I’ve had zero problems with time stretching on my Mac but will have to be using PC for a remote soon and would like to be aware of this.

I'm not aware of any v7 bugs related to time-stretching events. This sounds more like a user error to be honest.

Can you please post a screenshot of the song where this does not work? And are you sure that the problem is not that you tried this with an Audiopart? (Merged audio events)

I'm on Windows 10.

It's not user error.

It's as if the program hangs up during certain functions. I have the same problem in the browser with it freezing up while I'm auditioning sounds. The program will work fine for a while, then all the sudden start lagging on certain functions.

I can do the exact same work in v6 with zero issues, so it's definitely related to v7.

I'm not alone. Others were complaining about it when v7 first came out. The (.) updates seemed to fix the problem, and it returned with 7.1.

Hey, sorry to hear of the issue. Only in trying to understand your claims, it's really not possible. Consider, from a troubleshooting side. What functions?

Which functions? I get it's locking up, but your issue seems to be stability, and the time-stretch issue (which is what this post is about) is likely adding to your crashes.

In keeping with attempting to fix the issue you and the OP have with time stretch, it would be best as Lukas already mentioned to provide a screenshot, or video clip of the issue. The OP never mentioned lock-ups or crashes, only that the clip shrinks with time stretch but doesn't expand.
With your points about crashes and lockups, and browser behavior, It sounds as though you could have created a new post, or simply hold to the subject of time stretch. It's easier to cover that way.
For now, please provide actual functions and if helpful, a screenshot.
Thx.

To the OP, with certain audio events bounced to a set length, timestretch will shrink but not expand. Check Lukas' auto parts video which really covers those differences very well.
