Instruments
There are 43 tracks, so I'm not going to call out all the instruments, just the major ones...

Presonus Deep Flight One (4 instances)
Native Instruments Maverick Piano
Presonus Impact
Steven Slate Drums 5.5
Native Instruments Electric Sunburst (several instances)
Native Instruments Electric Storm
Native Instruments Icon Bass
Presonus Sub Zero
Dreamtronics Synth V (Using HXVoc as the vocalist)
Effects
I honestly didn't use a lot of different effects on here. Some Presonus Pro EQ. Various CLA Effects from Waves.
Used Ozone 11 to master.
Special techniques
I used ARA2 mode with Dreamtronics Synth V2, and I split out the drums into separate channels. Honestly, nothing out of the ordinary on this song. I challenged myself to do thsi song over a weekend, and I think it came out pretty good!
Released when
August 2025
I wanted to show another side of my music hobby as well. This is more of the rock / hard rock side. This is a song I originally wrote back in 2002 but just recently reinvented it from the ground up, changing the style to give it more of a hybrid rock, almost Linkin Park sound. I am doing the rap vocals. The sung vocals are actually Dreamtronics Synth V2. (I also sing, but wanted to use this vocal for this song). I know some people shriek at the fact that I am using synth vocals, thinking the whole song is AI. I assure you...that is NOT the case. First, while Dreamtronics Synth V uses AI, it is NOT AI generated. I generate the notes as well as the notes. AI is used to stitch it all together. Suno, this is not. I also performed all of the music. It is all VSTi.

I am hoping to release this on an upcoming album hopefully next year some time.

It has a kind of Euro vibe, I can easily picture hearing this while having a coffee in the Frankfurt airport, or watching Vevo back at the hotel. You could even do a more " Euro dance" mix by adding a four-on-the-floor kick :) I think you're on to something! I don't have a problem with the synthesized voice any more than I would have a problem with a vocoder. You chose the sound you wanted, that's as it should be...right?

My only comment is that if you bought this to me to master, I'd try to persuade you to start the song around the 1:10 mark. Then, I'd work some of the music in the beginning into the middle around 3:10 to build into the vocal that currently kicks in at 3:13.

Standard disclaimer: Any suggestions are totally influenced by my own personal/subjective biases, one of which is "try to get to the vocal in no more than 20 seconds." Take what I say seriously only if you want to :)

That's really good!! The thing that caught me off guard a bit was the very ending. I love that!! While I normally like
a manic hit it hard outtro, the way the vocal (not only in the calm) Piano and pad sounded like a perfect set up into the next song.
Nice, very well done 👩‍🎤 🎹 🎤 🖖

Hey there! I actually really appreciate your thoughts on this! This song is not released on an album yet...just YouTube...and I LOVE your idea and may try to incorporate that into the final version! THANKS for that suggestion!

Haha. Thank you! Believe it or not, many of my albums are seamless, at least in part, where each song goes right into the next and that is my intention with this song.

If you like, I can download the file, edit it, and see if what I think would sound good actually sounds good. Might be a fun experiment.

If you have the capability to DL from YouTube, be my guest, or I can pop the file up on a drive somewhere and send the link. Your call!

I can use the Virtual outs from the 1824c to record directly in Studio One, which will be good enough to find out if what I have in mind works. Stay tuned!

...and here's the modified version.

It needs a little more effort on the rise at the beginning, but you mentioned doing continuous sets, so exactly what you would do depends on what comes before it. But I do like the effect of jumping right into the song.

The original beginning gets surgically implanted at 2:00 or so, around the 1/3 point in the song - a good time to do something different to keep people engaged. This section ends in a rise at 2:46 (you'll probably want to mess with this, but it gives the gist of what I'd want to hear), and then it rejoins the original song at 2:51.

At 3:32 the lyrics talk about "sinking deeper" so I added three measures of a downward Barberpole. Couldn't resist :) After that it doesn't change from what you did. With the alteration at the beginning, the overall length is 6:20 instead of 6:48 but I don't think the song loses anything crucial, and the shorter length keeps the narrative flowing IMO.

I like the music and had fun doing this! I especially enjoy how the chord progression varies, and the vocal back-and-forth, builds at the end (y) Breaking up the song in the middle did what I wanted to hear, so I hope you like the result. If I wasn't so occupied working on my own stuff, I'd offer to do an alternate mix.

PLEASE DM me when you post Misguided so I can remove the video, to make sure you don't get something stupid like a copyright strike from this video being posted first! The link is private so no one can find it unless they look at it in this forum.

Question: Why to I enjoy listening to the music in the "Made in Studio One" forum more than listening to Spotify? 🤔

Try it now. I changed it to "Unlisted." that should fix it. Sorry!

Thanks! I see what you did! I actually really like the ideas. This song isn't actually released on an album yet, so I am thinking of implementing some of your suggestions! It gives the song a nice change. I really like the break in the middle...a lot. Don't take it down just yet. I'm going to grab the audio this evening.

I'll leave it up for a while because a lot of people listened to Misguided and apparently liked it, so they might find it interesting to hear how an alternate mix can change a song's character.

My main concern is making sure that when you post Misguided, YouTube doesn't compare it to what I posted and decide you violated a copyright!
