Solved Mac Users - a Question on MIDI Routing (or lack thereof)

Over in Windows - routing incoming MIDI (OUT) channels from a VST to an instrument track - appear to be childs play for me:

Where in Mac - this user does not even have the dropdown to choose a MIDI output channel:

Ideas? This user is rocking a Presonus 68C - but his routing capability looks severely stunted.

Is the PreSonus 68C driver installed and added to External Devices?

Actually - and strangely - it appears this issue is because of a plugin format and has nothing to do with the interface.

The examples above are using the new Scaler 3 VST (Windows) and the same Scaler 3 but in AU.

As soon as this user swapped over the the VST3 - on the Mac - the MIDI outputs appeared - just as mine did.

Did some good learning today.

Yes, totally: Scaler 3 on the WIndows screenshot is VST3. My guess is that on the macOS screenshot it's not the VST3 version. AU probably doesn't support MIDI outputs in general - or the AU version of this particular plug-in did not implement it.

You can see that it's the VST3 version by looking at the MIDI output dropdown menu. VST3 supports custom names chosen by the plug-in ("MIDI Output 1" etc. in the first screenshot). For VST2 plug-ins it would always be "CH 1", "CH2" etc.
