Latency

Hi! New member, first post.
I have used the system frequently lately with no problem but suddenly I hear a delay/latency when using the mic on a new or old song. Have tried both inlets on the box and USB's on the PC. Ideas are much appreciated.

Guessing you've got one or more plugins with some latency enabled. Try disabling every plugin to see if the latency improves first of all, then add back in whatever doesn't contribute to the problem. Reverbs, delays, tend to be particularly problematic for latency. (Add them after tracking).

AAV, many thanks for your input. I am an amateur user only using basic functions. I have tried to explore new functions and maybe I have been done something over my level of competence 😀. I will double check your ideas once more.

Low latency mode should bypass/disable plugins with noticeable latency. Compare with this video to see if at some point your setup got derailed :)
True, but the OP lists S1 Version 4 in his Sig. A lot of low latency enhancements occurred in 5, but I honestly don't recall the particulars of what came when, or even much in general about version 4.

Ah, good point. Well, still good stuff in the video and if v4 doesn't have low latency mode then it will show a good reason to upgrade;)

I'll also study the video suggested by SwitchBack. Looks interesting. Thanks.

30 sec into the video with Joe Gilder I spotted the problem. In the Audio Setup the "Device" had been changed to "Windows Audio". Changing it to "AudioBox" solved the problem - no latency. Never happened before but a bit embarrassed not having noticed that by myself:sneaky:.
Many thanks for the engagement. Is there button for solved issues?
