Hi and welcome to the Studio One User Forum!

I started a project with Session Strings Pro 2 and when I opened a Session Strings Pro 2 animator the player was 2 beats late. If I moved the MIDI ahead 2 beats it played on time. It only does this with the animator function. When I have it play just chords it's on time. What could be happening here?
I think when I posted this question yesterday somebody decided to troll me because all I got was a "Heh" response from somebody.
I really would like an answer or suggestion to what could be going on:

Maybe you thought because you saw that somebody responded that the problem was solved. It's not. I just opened the test project I created again today and the string ensemble is still 2 beats behind the piano. But this only happens on version 7. I tried it on version 6 and it's on time. Could somebody please take this serious enough to offer a useful suggestion or at least not troll.
I tried with Session Strings and Session Horns in V7 and both work as expected.
I don´t have Session Strings Pro 2 installed on my system.
Sorry I can´t help more.
Kind regards

We are always ready to help - but adding comments like this - is not going to win any favor.
If you want to be taken seriously - gentle suggestion to remain focused on the issue - which in this case is a difficult one unless someone can replicate your exact scenario - and that would involve ownership of Session Strings Pro 2 etc.
That said - I do have SSP2 here - but have no experience (or idea) on how to use the Animator.
Don't take it out of context. I didn't demand answers. I just demanded not to be trolled, if that's not asking too much. It's beginning to seem to me that asking questions is not a very popular activity among some Studio One users, and please note I said some, not all. I think you (Vocalpoint) know what I mean. If people are nice to me I promise I'll be nice to them back. Disrespect me and I return in kind. I just want to ask questions I need to ask. If you don't have an answer fine! Just don't troll me!
I sincerely apologize for the mishap in my previous post about the timing being off in Session Strings Pro 2. I should not have made the comment about not making a financial contribution. I didn't mean it to sound that way. I was just very angry about being trolled in that thread. Indeed, somebody (a moderator, perhaps) did remove the trolled comment earlier and I appreciate that. From now on if I'm trolled I will take notice of the name and report it.
To the troll in question-Please stop it, whoever you are! Let there be peace on this forum for all.
I don't have a lot of spare time but, if you can post the SS2 Pro patch name including the name of the animation, the articulation, also include the quantize setting used, I will run it on my system to see if I can replicate the issue. Beyond that, as you say it might be something that NI instruments could offer a solution.
Regards
I downloaded Session Strings Pro 2 and played a little with the phrase- and rhythm animator settings.
Everything works as expected, no delay or any kind of distractions.
Kind regards

Something else just occurred to me. I occasionally use sample libraries from an outfit called Straight Ahead Samples. I use their tenor sax and flute libraries and in order to make them sound as real as possible they use a feature called Smart Delay which requires you to move the MIDI clip 1bar ahead of where you want the instrument to come in. It uses the Kontakt player just like SSP2. The strange correlation is ssp is requiring me to advance the MIDI clip 2 beats ahead. Might there be a configuration that somehow got permanently locked into Studio Ones set up that I need to manually undo?

I don't really know what bar offset is so I wouldn't know if I'm using it or not. I just know I'm using whatever the default setting is

Hey JBMusic. I deeply regret I so flippantly responded with my comment to your “Kontakt Player 2 Beats Off” post. It was quite rude of me to make the “heh” comment and I am deeply, deeply apologetic that it caused you such consternation, rage, and sorrow. I don’t really mind being called an idiot and it is completely reasonable to go absolutely ballistic at that comment. It was incredibly juvenile and for that I am sorry. On the bright side for me, Kontakt 2 is working fine over here and is not two beats off on my system. Hope you get it worked out.

Ian-I appreciate your honesty and apology. All is forgiven and I withdraw the "idiot" comment. I'm still having the issue. I've consulted Native Instruments and Straight Ahead Samples to get their input. I think it's probably more an issue with NI than Studio One.
Not sure if this is the right answer or not, as I have never used the "animator" feature...however, I use the various Guitar libraries like Strummed Acoustic, Sunburst, etc....
And something I noticed with those MIGHT be the same issue....
On the patterns that they play, they are locked to 4/4. (Unless otherwise specified in the patch name)
If they are a two bar pattern, it locks the "start" to the odd # bars in Studio One. The 2nd bar gets locked to the even # bars. So if you start recording on Bar 2, the pattern starts at the 2nd half of the pattern.
Again, I am not SURE if this is the same issue you are having or not, just thought I'd throw that out there, just in case. Maybe start your recording on the next bar over, or a previous bar?
