kernelbase.dll error with NI Kontakt? - causes crash

hi everyone,

wondering if anyone came across this issue? it started sometime in the summer, im not sure what changed.

i have a huge project in studio one using Native Instruments Kontakt. it was working perfectly fine.

then i started getting crashes. the project will load...the project plays fine.

but if i go to open the plugin window for kontakt instruments, it fails out with this error, and then sometimes freeze completely.

im currently in the process of updating drivers + firmware for my RME Fireface 800 (old firewire interface), and running through some NI document to hopefully clear up.

in the meantime, just wanted to post here in case anyone has seen this behaviour.

More information is needed...
Please update your signature (see link in mine) with your system specs as this helps with these kind of questions.

ergg - sorry! updated.

i forgot to mention --- think this could be a NI issue specifically. i just tested launching NI in standalone mode, and it crashes out.

it happens infrequently which is the weird part, looks like its doing it today though. if i can resolve that, and open my project again, ill post back here with success.

hello. i updated kontakt through native access, and reinstalled studio one. now im getting a different error...which i will post elsewhere about...

i think, im just going to reinstall windows. :(

the crashlogs are garbled, i couldn't find much info because its random characters. i tried using a windbg tool but it seems they may have some special debugger for it? im not too sure how this works.

i will say, i found this line:
‘Ì_:û 0ûÿÿè 0ûÿÿÐ è Pluck SHGetFolderPathW C:\ProgramData C:\ProgramData\Pluck C:\ProgramData\Pluck\log C:\ProgramData\Pluck\log\.debug.txt PLUCKEYE_DEBUG PLUCKEYE_FAIL_FAST \\.\pluckeye \\.\pipe\bosspeo kernelbase.dll QueryInterruptTime C:\ProgramData\Pluck\v C:\ProgramData\Pluck\v\1.16.13 C:\ProgramData\Pluck\v\1.16.13\a òóFˆÓ?‘׬œ¡ s:\native instruments\kontakt\kontakt.exe

this makes me think its somethign to do with this pluckeye program. its like an internet filter that optimizes productivity/eliminates distractions.

im starting to think it is somehow crashing kontakt, i uninstalled it now, and the issue stopped. :/
