Hey folks, glad this exists. I've been having a hard time (after sound proofing my spot etc.) getting a totally clean sound on my vocal mic. It's like there's always freakin "SOMETHING" . fOR THE MOST PART, ITS TOTALLY USABLE, BUT WHEN I send my tracks to the lable for mastering, he always tells me I should get a usb mic to surpass all the issues all together.. Anyone use a USB mic with studio 1? i currently have the most updated version.

What mic and audio interface are you currently using?

Please update your signature (see link in mine) with your system specs as that helps in answering questions.

While USB mics are getting better, a quality studio condenser mic with a nice mic pre in a decent interface will more than likely still be superior. You should sort out what your current issue actually might be. eg get a little further away eg 12” set levels correctly eg loudest parts only reaching -10 dB FS etc

Having a good interface with good preamps and a good condenser mic with a well treated room will outperform any available USB mic.

You pay for quality. A USB mic from a reputable manufacturer of mics should be ballpark the same quality as its non-USB counterpart, and there is much less to go wrong wrt. settings and stuff. Quality-wise the built-in preamp should be a good match to the mic. Yes, you lose the tweaking options you get from a separate preamp or two, but the agony of choice too ;)

Why not ask your label for a brand/model suggestion?

This USB mic would probably be a good option:

It‘s the only USB Mic I could find with studio quality so far.
