Host automation by midi notes from epiano?

Hi,

how can I achieve the following: when I press a certain note on my epiano (Yamaha 121), I want to control host commands like start/stop the track.
I would therefore chose the lowest possible note on my piano.

But how can I assign midi events globally to automate the DAW?
While I see the notes in the Midi Monitor, how can I assign them to commands, if possible at all?

Sidenote: the view of my piano does not show any "midi learn" button or similar:





But I can see those notes being triggered when I press keys on my piano.

Hi and welcome,

currently that's not possible at all. You can map Studio One commands only to MIDI CC events but not to Note On / Note Off events.

Okay so the midi learn button is missing because a normal epiano cannot emit midi cc events?
And probably also not by using a sustain pedal or similar device connected to the epiano?
