Hi Res 4K Monitor settings for Studio One

I have been given a Gigabyte M28U Monitor as a present. Its a 4K monitor. I am just wondering what sort of settings people are using to get the best balance for resolution and text and display size etc.. Its all a bit new for me as I have been on an much older monitor for a long time now. Is there a setting in Studio One I should know about? I am also on a Mac so I guess the Mac users might be more helpful here. It has a 144Hz refresh rate and great sharpness etc..

I am very Interested to see what response(s) you get from this. Been thinking about this every so often. I have 2 27" older Mac Monitors (display port type) and a little concerned as to how long they may last and when I do have to address them which way to go. They look good at
the time being. The 2 monitors are being driven by a Thunderbolt 3 Port to a sonnettech Thunderbolt to Displayport dual outlet.

My laptop has 2 graphics chips, the in-built Intel chip for the internal 4K display and an nVidia chip for the external display. I recently bought an LG UltraGear 32" 4K OLED monitor. I configured my laptop for external display only. The laptop is now closed up and standing behind the LG monitor stand. Even though the internal display is also 4K, Windows recommended 150% scaling for the LG, while it recommended 200% scaling for the internal display, so I switched to 150%. Everything looks great.

I don't know if you updated your Appearance settings in SO7 after upgrading from v6. The default settings in v7 were awful, rendering the appearance almost unusable. I changed my settings to the following, and v7 now looks great.

My 4K is 43". I went large intentionally so I could run 100% scale without widgets and text being too small.

When I replace this display I will drop down to 32-34" though.

I used to use a 4K TV with my Mac, and could never get clear text with it unless I went to a much lower resolution than desired (welcome to the land of Mac HiDPi...). The same TV was razor sharp with my PC. You probably will be OK, but if you're not - try this utility: BetterDisplay
