Hi DPI settings and Windows on 125% breaks NI Plugins

Hello, does anyone have a solution for this issue:

I use Windows 10 with a scale of 125%, because it is a big monitor with a lot of DPI and I need things a bit bigger for my eyes.

But if I enable in S1 the High DPI mode, some plugins are truncated:

If I disable the High DPI mode, plugins in shown correctly. But then all is a bit blury.

I tried also this in Windows setting:

But it does not help. S1 does with HI DPI scaling also then the 125% of Windows. I could live with a solution that S1 would not scale to 125% but to 100%. But I dont know how I can do this.

Any idea?

Please update your signature (see link and example in mine) with your system specs.

Are you running the latest driver for your graphics card?

Now, as you mentioned, I updated the graphics driver. But no change.

I run now S1 without HI DPI, which makes it blury. But it shows the whole plugins.

Which plugins are getting cut off?
Have you contacted any of them to report the issue?:

Most plugin developers I've talked to assume a (16:9 aspect ratio( 1920x1080, 3840x2160 resolution, etc.

Per your signature, you have a ultra-wide monitor running at (21:9 aspect ratio) 3440x1440 resolution.
Instead of scaling at 125% I'd recommend enabling High DPI mode, scaling at 100% and trying other available resolutions in Windows to see if that helps correct the issue.

Here's a link to a good article that explains the differences...
32:9 vs 21:9 vs 16:9 – What’s the Difference?

This.

Any deviance - especially via Windows - will make things blurry.

You cannot simply crank Windows to 125% and assume all plugins will follow suit. Polyplex is definitely one that will not.

99% of all plugins are designed (very specifically) to run in Standard HD - with no scaling whatsoever.

So mainly NI plugins. No change that NI changes something. That is not how they work.

The S1 setting for High DPI takes the Windows 125% as value. So I can not change it - would be great if I could. So for me it looks like S1 does the scale if this checkbox is enabled. That would be fine for me, if I could set it to 100% for S1 only. But it looks like you can not overwrite this value.

My question here was simply if someone knows a trick how to solve that. Or how to force S1 to work on 100% and not 125%.

Your issue would be instantly solved if you simply run in Standard HD. No need for DPI. No need to mess with Windows. No need for anything.

Given how many times I have tried to explain this to countless other users over the years - while I understand the concern for your eyes - staying far away from any Windows scaling (which is not exactly reliable at the best of times) will save you tons of hassle.

You are dealing with a multitude of UIs - all of which really have only a single thing in common - Standard HD resolution.

Sure, if I scale with 100% its sharp. But for my all the text is so tiny that its hard to read. The scaled blury text I can read at least. If just S1 would use 100%, I could go with the tiny text as there is not much I must read. But it looks like there is no way to exclude S1 or plugins from scaling.

So a bit frustrating.

This is the sole reason it's tiny: Monitor 1: 3440x1440

Change this to be real Standard HD (1920x1080) and all will be well. Including for your eyes.
