Harmony Wizard Feature Request - Note Length

Hello Lukas,
thanks for all your amazing scripts. It improves my workflows in S1 a lot and I cannot think of S1 without them anymore :)

However, I do miss two functions that would make my life even a lot more easier.

Therefore I kindly ask if you might add them in one of your addons at some point in time.

But what am I talking about?

1. Set Note Lenght in seconds or milliseconds
S1 only offers this in beat related lengths.
Working with TSS, articulations are set by note lenght. This would increase the workflow significantly

2. Add/Subtract note length by time units like seconds or milliseconds
Your nudge feature already helps a lot for legato transitions, but if I could add a relative lenght in ms to the note, it would cause a much cleaner picture.

Thanks for reading and taking the time

Best Regards

Isn’t that possible with the left panel ?

Maybe there is a solution for the macro.
Let’s say your tempo is 90 bpm and your time signature is 4/4. So it means that 1 second value is 60/90 = 0,66 beats.
So now if you want to increase the note length by 1s, you just have to set this kind of macro :

See the « 0.00.66 » ? That’s where you set the value of 1 second in beats.

Thanks again for your help and your efforts. Really appreciate this.
However, I had the same idea before I postet🫣. I took it actually one step further and checked how the ranges of articulations are and how to approach it in the most general way that it can be used at as many tempos as possible.

Sadly the problem can only be solved for a range of +-10bpm
So each tempo range needs new macros.
So I decided to take the sound variation route for now and hope that at some point more functions for Makros will be available ✌️

I like the idea of a "Length" command for both events (in the arrangement) and notes (in the editor) that allows setting a fixed length or an offset/relative value in seconds, beats or bars. That's much better than a workaround.

I'm thinking about what would happen if the notes crossed a point where the tempo changed (tempo map) or if there is a ramp on the tempo map. It could be very difficult to find the right note duration.

I like, that you like the idea ;)

Definetly mathematically more advanced. But I think it depends of how S1 handles timings. From a playback perspective, time would be the constant. In that case beats would be a f(t)
If the interface is accessible from the beat side only it would be a different thing t = f(b)
All depending on the initial design and concept.

(Thats btw why simple looking features can cause big troubles)
