And man I really really do not like it. I currently run Studio One as my main mixing DAW, Pro Tools for recording and editing, and Digital Performer for film scoring compatibility. I am fairly fluent in Cubase and get around fine in Audition. I feel confident using any of those programs in a professional setting. However, yesterday I was told that to be involved in a specific project where everyone was using Logic, I had to get on board. No bouncing to AAF anymore. So I bought it, installed it, and spent the night working on it. Everything is backwards and the workflow is goofy. Yes there’s some quirks and differences within the language between studio one and PT. Like, Aux tracks function differently and such. But i feel like S1 is what I want PT to be when I’m mixing. I have never run into something that felt completely unintuitive just opening a session. Everything feels randomly placed and unconventional. I understand this is purposeful and people love Logic, but I’m old now.
I generally stay away from YouTube mixers but is there anyone you like that you’d recommend who is working in logic and demos workflow? Any tips you have for not hating this program?
Also, I feel like it would make things a lot easier if I could slave it to Studio One and run one interface with two machines. However, my other computer is a Mac Pro running 10.13 and I can’t seem to download any old versions of Logic from the App Store. Anyone have a DMG for 10.3.2 lying around?
Sorry for the rant.
