After over a decade of Studio One use, as the title says, S1 didn't want to open until I blacklisted a plugin, in this case, the Ostirus VST which is an exact emulation of an Access Virus synth. Before I just try to correct the situation, I'd like to understand where the blacklisting might have originated from, as in could it have had something to do with a Windows Update or does Presonus have some process where they add different VSTs to the list, and these can be added at any time, and it just so happened that in the week in between opening that song a Minister of Blacklisting at Presonus added Ostirus?
I should note that Ostirus and its brother Osirus are somewhat unusual DSP emulations as opposed to a straightforward VST plugs like, say, Keyscape. And the discourse place where people discuss it is a bit of a foreign place for those of us unused to dealing with discourse sites.
But even before I figure it out I'd appreciate knowing more about who or what decides when a VST gets blacklisted so I can hopefully avoid it happening again.
