Solved Extensions "Access is Denied" - on startup

boy oh boy...fix one problem, another comes.

i reinstalled studio one due to a kernelbase.dll issue i was getting with native instruments. i also updated native instruments. one of these solved the sissue, i think? or maybe it was windows defender...i have no clue.

BUT, now, when i start up studio one 6, im getting this exclamation mark. it looks like projects load fine...but i'd really like to know if this could be fixed, i want to take this computer offline permanently, or for very long, and i dont want more issues coming up.

the folder exists - it may have been from studio one 5? im not sure. i tested deleting c:\programdata\presonus, and installing S1 v6, and the folder was not even created! something is wonky. i had a copy of it so i pasted it back.

the permissions look fine to me.

please, would greatly appreciate any help!

thanks for reply dave71.

just to update this - i fixed it. it appears that for some reason, the 'write' permission was not checked for the 'users' group.

after giving the write permission for the users group on the extensions folder, the problem went away.

now im not sure if it would have been needed for the whole presonus folder, but so far no issues. its just odd this wasn't on by default after install?

regardless, im probably going to reinstall windows.

Anytime! And to be clear, ProSonus does not change permissions during install, otherwise we all would see this issue all the time. Most of us never do. But by changing that now you most likely fixed it for the future as well. Or rather, after reinstalling Windows and then possibly having to change it again.
