Solved Expanding all available "Multi Instrument" outputs into console

Newbie to S1 (slowly porting a lot of stuff from Samplitude).

The ability to "expand" outputs from VSTi's and have those channels appear in the console/mixer is very easy and useful.

I require the use of two, separate, in parallel, drum VSTi's to be triggered from the one MIDI track. It appears that "multi instruments" is the way to go, however, the outputs of these do not automatically appear under the "expand" command, and reflect only one master volume for each of these instruments "inside" the Multi Instrument "container" (??).

Tobias' LoopMIDI may solve this, but, as yet, I have not been able to get it functioning as I do in Samplitude. Have asked Tobias for advice.

Any assistance greatly appreciated.

Cheers,
Bob.

I would use 2 Inst tracks with shared/linked copies of the MIDI. No loopbacks. No Multi Inst constraints.

Thanks Bob. By "shared/linked", do you mean copy the MIDI into two tracks (one with each VSTi), or is this a S1 thing?

Yes. If you duplicate an instrument part (MIDI) via SHIFT-D, a shared copy is created. Drag this copy to the second Inst track.
Because they are shared any edits you make to one of them will also be made to the other.

Ta mate - this now rings a bell. That's a great function!

Bob.

I had no idea this was possible. Thanks for sharing!
